#8 - Tekken 2
Tekken 2 may not have been the first 3D fighter - or even the first in its own series - but for many, the game is 3D fighting. Texture-mapped 3D graphics brought unprecedented realism to the fledgling genre, making Sega's Virtua Fighter combatants look like the colorful block people they were. With the emphasis on learning moves and combos rather than lightning-quick reactions, it rewarded patience. Namco had a winner on its hands - and so did the PlayStation.

    PS2 was the first console i owned, though i did play PS1 1st. Funny thing is i actually wanted the ps1 but as i was asking for it my brother told me to get a PS2. Sure enough, a few seconds after he said that a PS2 commercial shows up and i'm like, "never mind mom, i want PS2!!"

    I remember my uncle gave me a PS-one as my first console (that wasn't hand-held). Ever since that day, he would be known to my sister and I as "the cool uncle" of the family.
