Bye bye, baby

#1 - Metal Gear Solid
Solid Snake's PSone adventure was a milestone in gaming. Kick-starting the now done-to-death stealth-'em-up genre, Hideo Kojima's masterpiece was intelligent, exciting and technically astounding. The long list of memorable moments - like having to switch to the second joypad port to avoid having your mind read - made sure that once you played MGS, you never, ever forgot it.

Above: Metal Gear Solid brought stealth to PlayStation gamers. Snake's the one to blame

So there it is - a collection of truly unforgettable titles. And with the PS2's backwards compatibility and the promise that the PS3 and even the PSP will soon be playing the games too, it doesn't look like the PSone is going anywhere just yet...

PS2 was the first console i owned, though i did play PS1 1st. Funny thing is i actually wanted the ps1 but as i was asking for it my brother told me to get a PS2. Sure enough, a few seconds after he said that a PS2 commercial shows up and i'm like, "never mind mom, i want PS2!!"

I remember my uncle gave me a PS-one as my first console (that wasn't hand-held). Ever since that day, he would be known to my sister and I as "the cool uncle" of the family.
