Buy Borderlands Game of the Year Edition, play Duke Nukem Forever demo first

More good news for frugal gamers. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not you should pick up Borderlands, you might want to pick up the Game of the Year edition, which will include four DLC campaigns and early access to the Duke Nukem Forever demo.

The Borderlands Game of the Year edition will include a membership certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club. Register your key, and you’ll get to access the Duke Nukem Forever demo before anyone else.

Above: The Borderlands Game of the Year Edition will also include four previously released DLC adventures, including Claptrap's New Robot Revolution

Also included redeemable vouchers for the four DLC expansions, which have already been released for Borderlands, including The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution.

The Borderlands Game of the Year edition is scheduled to release on October 12 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The Duke Nukem Forever demo has not received a release date yet; the full game is scheduled to release sometime in 2011.

so i'm interested in the duke nukem code if anybody has it'and doesnt want it.. I thought as bad as the reviews were there would be plenty of codes flying around the net.Go figure.

This Blows hard. I already own all of Borderlands except the newest DLC. And despite owning the game i don't get the duke demo? Come on you need borderlands to use the newest DLC attach the demo to that.

WOW, good job Duke Nukem for completely ripping off the cover of LMS.

man im glad i decided to put this game off until i finish with new vegas w00t
  • FETALJUICE - October 6, 2010 12:20 a.m.

The only reason I never got this game was because I didn't have the money. But now things are different and I'm glad they are releasing this GOTY edition! HELL YEAH!
  • Spybreak8 - October 5, 2010 11:26 p.m.

How the heck does that make sense? What do the people who buy the game at 60 bucks and then the dlc during the first week get? Well it's just a demo but it's the principle because this always happens. haha ><

HA! I already played it first! PAX ftw!
  • jake1123456 - October 5, 2010 11:19 p.m.

I understand the point... but those of us that contributed almost twice as much money to your pocket, Gearbox, should also get early access. Thanks in advance for the fan support.

You see with these games, all you gotta do is wait and you'll get all the DLC. Hell, I'm not even picking up Fallout: New Vegas (Because of no money) until a year later from now. I'll pick this up.
  • mrmorozov987 - October 5, 2010 10:34 p.m.

Awesome! I was planning on getting this anyway, and knowing that I'll get early access to a demo of my most anticipated future title; that just makes my day.
  • cart00n - October 5, 2010 10:02 p.m.

Ah, marketing; look at the all the bad moods you've wrought...
  • TruckThunders - October 5, 2010 9:43 p.m.

What if someone bought the game at launch and then all the DLC as it game out? Do they get the demo early? Do they?! So the people who spent over $100 on Borderlands get shafted, while the person who waited ant spent only $60 gets a bonus. It's not a big deal because I don't really care about Duke Nukem, but it's just the way this was done that upsets me.

My only question is: will my saved game from the regular edition swap over to the GOTY edition? I like Borderlands, but not enough to play it again.
  • batmanboy11 - October 5, 2010 9:24 p.m.

I haven't bought Borderlands yet, so maybe I'll get this and check out Duke Nukem.
  • EnragedTortoise1 - October 5, 2010 8:53 p.m.

    Always bet on Borderlands. :P

Any chance that the European release will get Duke. :)
  • Samael - October 5, 2010 8:30 p.m.

Sonuva...I bought Borderlands yesterday, as I happened to have $30 to spend and I had no idea about this. I'll see if I can force my friend to buy this. He's a MASSIVE Duke Nukem fan and it probably won't take much convincing.
  • blakebeauchamp - October 5, 2010 8:16 p.m.

Oh that's kind of gay, I bought borderlands last year and three of the dlc. Perhaps I can get it the code out of one of my friends who don't game as much.
