You’ve got to admire Matthew Broderick... The fella will always be Ferris Bueller to an army of ‘80s aficionados and Mr SJP to the rest of the world but dammit, the man has talent. Just one glance through his CV and you’ll see that Mr B is definitely not workshy.
The Inspector Gadget star has just signed to star opposite Hotel Rwanda actress Sophie Okonedo in Wonderful World, a powerful drama from the pen of Darkman scribbler Joshua Goldin.
The tale follows a recently divorced American fella (Broderick) who has become twitter and bisted about relationships until he meets a charming African woman (Okonedo).
The project is currently in pre-production and should start shooting towards the end of this year or early 2007.
Goldin and Brodders teamed up once before, for the 1992 comedy Out On A Limb. Let’s hope Wonderful World is a more effective showcase for Ferris’ talents… sorry, we meant Matthew… honest.
