Borderlands 2's Handsome Jack trailer issues a challenge: "come and get me"

Normally video games feature ancient demons as their villains. Usually the biggest departure we get in the bad-guy category is a rogue general with a grudge or maybe, just maybe a fallen angel. Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox has found something even more infuriating and terrifying: a cocky handsome guy.

 

Borderlands 2 is just around the corner. It will be hitting store shelves later this Fall in just over a month on September 18, 2012. You can check out all our Borderlands 2 coverage from the past few months to make sure you're fully up to speed before you make a run at Handsome Jack.

And if you watch just one more Borderlands 2 trailer, make sure it's this one. Because it's high in the running for best trailer of 2012.

    For a guy named 'Handsome Jack', he doesn't seem to be all that handsome. t least, not as much as me. I'm liking his personality though- which is always what borderlands has been about, I suppose. That humour and charm unique to each character. One thing I noticed in this was gun NOISES- the assault rifles and stuff, to me at least, sounded a lot more 'realistic'- that is, more like they sound in modern shooter kinda games like Battlefield or CoD than they did in the last Borderlands. But that might just be me.

    "Ripoff Station" - Well...At least it's honest? XD At about 1:06 - I spot at least 3 oranges. A probable sniper. Certainly looks lightweight, with no clip, certainly not one big enough to stick out? As well as what appears to be an Assault rifle (with knife attachment for bonus melee damage) and Shotgun. Plus a fair number of Greens, Blues, and some purples. Loads of whites as well. Guns are definitely more distinctive this time around. Will be much easier to tell what a gun is in BL2. It seems they've taken BL1's standard of having the rarer stuff stand out more even further in this game. The whites were masses of grey mostly, and the higher up in rarity they went, the more colorful and/or original the guns looked. 3rd person seems almost definitively confirmed now. I don't think they would have put in that view the way they did if it wasn't.

    guy has 2 different colored eyes does it get more badass than that? he is cocky thought but i got a laugh out of this. awesome trailer.
