Borderlands 2 side missions guide

Arid Nexus – Badlands

Uncle Teddy

Experience: 3491 XP
Money: $1074
Gear: Pistol/Shotgun

Go to TK Baha’s house and locate the 6 ECHO devices in the lab under the shack. To open the lab, pull the Clover charm that is hanging from the ceiling. Once you have all 6 ECHO recorders, hit the switch on the side of the Guns Machine to find the blueprints. You will then have a choice of mailing them to Una or to the Hyperion Corporation. Make your way to the waypoint of your choice and make the delivery to whomever you deem fit for the designs. Once you do, you will complete the mission.

Get to Know Jack

Experience: 3491 XP
Money: $537
Gear: Sniper Rifle

Find the ECHO journals of Jack in the Arid Nexus boneyard and badlands. The only tricky recorder is in the badlands which is located atop a windmill. Follow the wire from it to the switch that is located on the structure beside it. Flip it and the nest will explode and a Rakk will fly around with the recorder. Shoot it down and then collect it from the ground. The other recorders are rather simple to find, but the second my pose a threat as it’s on top of a shack in Fyrestone and there is a giant robot called Saturn walking around. You can grab the recorder and run like the dickens, or take your chances with Saturn and then continue on to get the rest of the ECHOs.

Hungry Like the Skag

Experience: 6983 XP
Money: $ 1074
Gear: Rifle

For this mission, visit each of the 4 locations marked on your map and take out the groups of Skags that appear. They will eventually drop a piece of gun which you will need to collect 4 of. Once you have collected all four, simply turn in the quest to get your fancy new gun.

Ore Chasm

Hyperion Slaughter: Round 1 (Undiscovered)

Experience: 3945 XP
Money: $ 2696
Gear: None

For the Hyperion Slaughter missions, you will need to enter Ore Chasm which can be in the same area where Mal is; the Human Dwelling. When you first enter Eridium Blight through the fast travel, go through the large door on the right and drive straight, first along the road and then up the hill where the road bends to the left. Once inside, start the Slaughter and you will find that they are basically the exact same as the Fink’s Slaughterhouse missions; except this time you will be fighting robots with a sprinkle of humans here and there. Be sure to bring your finest corrosive weapons and load up on ammo. Get upgrades from the Black Market, as the fights can last a good long time. For the first round, you will only need to fight through three rounds to survive. It is highly suggested that you get a co-op group together to try and take on the later rounds. The number of waves increase as do the number of times you face Constructors and Super Bad Ass Loaders.

Terramorphous Peak

You. Will. Die.

Experience: 19554 XP
Money: $3019
Gear: None

This is the post-game side mission and you will need to go at this with a 4 player group of level 50s—or at least mostly 50s. Terramorphous is a bad-shut your mouth- and as such, takes a ton of fire power to take down. To reach Terramorphus, you will need to go to Thousand Cuts and drop down just after entering, to find the entrance cave. Once you enter it, you will need to place 4 Eridium on the pedestal to open the doors to Terramorphous Peak. Use fire-enabled weapons if you can and try to keep nearby each other in case one of you gets downed. If you do, at least you’ll be close by to try and revive each other.

There is only Terramorphous and his tentacles that periodically come out to fight, so if you need a second wind to get up, the tentacles aren’t always there to take down. Once you have taken care of Terramorphous, there will be an amazing amount of loot on the ground and if you have completed every single one of the other side-missions in this guide, then the image below shows your reward (the Xbox 360 version) when you turn in the quest to Tannis in Sanctuary.
