Borderlands 2 "Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty" DLC coming

The vault hunters of Borderlands 2 will battle buccaneers across the sandy seas of Oasis in upcoming DLC, according to hints uncovered by players in the game's existing content. ShackNews put together the efforts of fans who revealed PlayStation 3 trophies leaked in the game's Mechromancer update yesterday, as well as various assets hidden in Borderlands 2's Steam source files.

A snippet from the uncovered script sets up the premise better than we could:

"Legends speak of Captain Blade's Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great, that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them."

The script also presumably contains the rest of the dialogue in the upcoming DLC, so be wary if spoilers aren't your thing. Oasis looks to be an all-new zone with plenty of treasure to dig up, including a new head for each class, a new vehicle, and a Hunter S. Thompson/Raoul Duke look-alike quest giver.

Oh gods yes. As if the game isn't good enough on its own, they had to throw PIRATES into the mix!? It's as if Gearbox are appealing specifically to me.

Is this included in the premiere club for those of us who preordered the game or we have to buy it separately? Doesn't really matter if not, I got my Mechromancer so I'm happy :D

This is presumably the first of the season pass DLC. The premiere club is pretty explicit about what you get. Mechromancer, Vault Hunter Relic, Golden Key, Gold Guns. The Mechromancer DLC includes those things as well. So essentially, Mechromancer aside the premiere club pre-order bonus was just a timed exclusive.

I don't often see but when I do, it's what they did there.

It's a shame I won't be getting back to Borderlands anytime soon. I'm pouring hours into Dishonored then I still have The Walking Dead and X-Com to go through. Talk about first world problems.

I'm right there with you--too many games to play and still play. Problems of a gamer, I tell you hwut.
