Blizzard bringing Diablo III to PS4, PS3

And another shocker from Sony's PlayStation 4 reveal today. Blizzard's Chris Metzen confirmed that Diablo III will see release on the PlayStation 4, as well as the PlayStation 3.

He said that Diablo III's entire UI has been given an upgrade when it comes to consoles. It will have a four-player co-op mode that is full screen, no split-screen involved. Metzen noted that the game will receive a full reveal at PAX East, next month.

Diablo III released for the PC to a warm critical reception in 2012.

Shocking! So you mean the game that played like a console port is going to be on a console?! The best part--for the true sucker--you can drop lots of RW coin on auction house gear!

When metzen showed up I was like holy shit! But then yeah a bit underwhelming. 4 player couch co-op is extremely rare nowadays though, I can tip my hat to that. Anyway Blizz' dev cycle is not suited for consoles anyway, if they announced a new IP now they would have it done when PS6 is revealed. I'm not trying to say it's a good thing, particularly when the end product is like D3, which I love but doesn't really show that it's developed in 10 years.

This would have been the most anti-climactic announcement throughout the entire stream only Square Enix decided to show up and announce "We came here today to tell you to come to E3 so we can make an announcement"

I'll take a pass. D3 was playable for about 6 hours for me and then I went back to Torchlight 2.

Diablo 3 is bad enough on pc, why does it have to be on consoles too?
