Blizzard bans 320,000 Warcraft III and Diablo II accounts

Happy 4/20! Yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment dropped the ban hammer on over 320,000 Warcraft III and Diablo II accounts that were found to be violating the Battle.net terms of use. The CD keys associated with the banned accounts will be suspended for 30 days, if the user was found to be a first time offender. But repeat offenders will have their CD keys banned permanently.

Above: There's no room for hackers on Battle.net. Blizzard Entertainment recently banned 320,000 accounts

So what got all these players banned? According to Blizzard’s announcement, the “abuse of unintended mechanics and/or use of third party programs is a violation of the agreement made when signing on to Battle.net...” In other words, it sounds like they’re after hackers and cheaters. In fact, Blizzard claims that many of these accounts were banned due to tips sent in by Battle.net users – and encourages its community members to email hacks@blizzard.com if they come across a hack, sites distributing hacks, or replays of hacks.

@ Skykid I believe it was Warcraft III players not WoW players. Eh, hard to say with out knowing what exactly they were guilty of and whether or not all were guilty of something serious. I meen hacking etc... fine, but abusing in game mechanics? Fix your fking games then! You can't blame players for taking advantage of dodgey and potentially unbalancing design. Oh wait I forget this is Blizzard we're talking about... yes they can blame players for dodgey and unbalanced design and no they won't fix the issues they'll just throw their weight around.

WELLLLLL, I see that some people are just bad at covering up hacks. And hacking just makes WoW worse, not better. And Diablo II, a crying shame to spoil a good game.
