BioWare's next franchise teased with explosive image

BioWare has a released single, solitary piece of game art teasing its yet-to-be-announced project, which is slated to be unveiled in full during Spike TV's 2011 Video Game Awards (VGA). It may not be much to go on, but we can say with absolutely certainty that the mystery project will have something to do with vehicles, clear skies, crashes, and a poor dude wearing a bullet belt.

The image was posted by Game Informer, and smacks of Uncharted-meets-Rage, or even Half-Life-meets-Twisted Metal. How about Team-Fortress-2-meets-Red-Faction? Heck, we could do this all week. Still, while the gameplay details are cloudy, BioWare did confirm last week that the new game is being developed under a new studio.

BioWare's next is one of many games scheduled to be announced during Spike's VGA Awards. The evening will also feature the debut of the Alan Wake sequel for XBLA, and the first appearance of Metal Gear Solid: Rising since E3 2010, among others. The show airs on Spike at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on Saturday, December 10.
