I never once believed BioShock Vita would ever exist. It's obvious that Sony just threw a bunch of money at Levine for him to hype up their systems while Infinite was at the tip of everyone's wish list. Just months after saying he would never use waggle in a game (accompanied by mocking gestures and arm flailing), there he is up on stage claiming to be so excited about PS Move, and how it could rip down those barriers for people that want to play Infinite but are intimidated by controllers (These people don't even exist). You could tell the whole time he was talking that he didn't mean a word of it. It was all about the payday.

I actually want to see a sequel to the DMC reboot. That game was surprisingly good. It had a decent story, and ended in a way that makes me feel like the real fight is just about to begin. I hope they don't axe it now.

Don't forget, Shinra is part of FFX-2. So this might further bridge the gap between VII and X-2. That is, if it really is a game. Hopefully, not an ios or mobile game. Like the Turks game. As for the DMC reboot, I appreciated the story of that game. As a redo, I prefer the story and bosses in the reboot over the original. Would I have preferred the original Dante of the first series? Sure. But I didn't hate the new take on Dante. In the original series I prefer DMC 3 & 4. So, a redo of the first game never bothered me. It was an improvement (mostly). I would welcome a sequel. Even though, I kind of pretend DMC 3 is the sequel (which is sorta true, given the DMC reboot ending). And the Dante of that game moved past his personality issues of the reboot. Leaving Kat behind, because she wanted to pursue her dream of painting Grafitti for Art galleries. So she takes early retirement. Cause, I need an excuse in this fantasy world why she isn't there to help connect the two games. Which technically aren't of the same universe. But I can pretend (for now)!

Ikr, but FF7 takes plays centuries, no, millenia after FFX-2. The Shinra company was named like that cause either Shinra or his ancestors first inhabited that planet and started using that lifeforce (w/e it's called) cause they perfected the energy-extraction of Pyreflies on Spira IIRC. Anyhow, I'd be so happy if a new game expanded on that :D

True. Though I like to believe Shinra himself started the company with some Al Bhed. In what would be Shinra Company's early years. Maybe he created some crude, early versions of the technology that allowed conversion? Or maybe, he just opened some other business that sold electronics. While the plan was always in place to expand into being a power company. Waiting for the day R & D makes a breakthrough. Either way, Shinra seems to be a genius. So I could see him inventing some helpful everyday devices. That would help build his company and make his dream possible of harnessing the power within the planet. Either way, a game about Shinra Company could be interesting. Hopefully, it's for consoles or at least 3DS/Vita.

You honestly liked how the bosses are so easy and boring to fight against (save for the last one) in the reboot vs more bosses that actually keep you on your toes in the originals?
  • Spider3PO - February 22, 2014 3:17 p.m.

I don't hate the bosses in the original. Except the black jelly boss you fight three times and the last boss in DMC original. You do make a good argument on boss fights in the original. But from a narrative standpoint, I prefer the reboot. There's more story there. More dialogue for that matter. Don't get me wrong, the original DMC is good. Game play works well. And it's the only DMC with underwater exploration. Most the weapons even have their own personality. The Scorpion fights are well designed. Nero is a great rival, but he's silent. There's little personality, even though he's your _____. There also wasn't that many bosses in the original. You fought many of the same bosses 2-3 times. Does Reboot have better bosses? Narrative wise, yes. Game play, they're more like a puzzle. Thus, not particularly challenging. It's not that think they're better boss fights, it's that I think the Reboot overall is a better experience. For me anyways. The reboot is plenty challenging with normal bad guys. Particularly on higher difficulties. Now I can understand what you mean about easy boss fights making for an unappealing DMC. It's one of the many reasons I don't like DMC 2. I don't even like admitting it exists, for push over bosses, weak bad guys, zero story, some pointless mechanics, and world's crappiest dialogue. It's an abomination to the series. DMC 3 is probably the jewel of the original series. DMC 4, I might not be remembering right. But I felt it had a good balance too. It felt like, the later games finally figured out what DMC was all about. As well as how to best utilize that. The Reboot could have done a better job then what it did with the bosses. But to me, that's one of a few cons. Which to me, the pros outnumber on the pros & cons list of that game. Anyways, that's just my opinion. I'll always remember the Original, and appreciate it. It still has an amazing beginning and end.

I thought bioshock vita cancelled years ago
  • universaltofu - February 21, 2014 12:57 p.m.

I liked DMC, the only issue was the choppy frame-rate at times. I only played the original trilogy at the end of the PS2's lifecycle so none of the games ever got to make much of an impression on me so I didn't have a problem with Dante's look or attitude. I'm down for more demon world grabby arm gameplay though.
  • PlainLikeVanilla - February 21, 2014 12:29 p.m.

Not sure you can say Bioshock vita was cancelled given that it was never really started.
