In the days of Rapture, BioShock was just you and the unfriendly world (and some jerk on a radio). But when Irrational Games started cracking on BioShock Infinite, the studio wanted a friendly link between the player and the environment; making Elizabeth not just useful for moving the story along but helpful and reactive to each individual player was quite an undertaking.
Elizabeth's voice actress, motion capture performer, and designers have a lot to say about making the "Lamb of Columbia" a memorable character. Thankfully, you'll finally get to meet her yourself when BioShock Infinite releases next Tuesday.
