Bigger, better Minecraft coming to Xbox One

Expanded maps, multiplayer and tool-sets promised

Microsoft has announced that Minecraft is coming to Xbox One. The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has over 6 million players, who create and survive in over 66 different countries, which is why the game will carry over into the next generation.

Details of specific upgrades are vague. Maps will be larger and you'll have expanded tools and interaction options. There will be 'more multiplayer' too, which sounds good to us. No news on specific pricing or servers at this point.

Announce trailer below.

Andy has been writing about games since 1999, when he nagged the Editors of his University newspaper so much they let him start a brand-new video games section. After that he worked in print mags for over 10 years before switching to the murky world of online editing, when he became Executive Editor on GamesRadar. Now he uses his ill-gotten power and influence to write endless, beard-stroking think-pieces on Destiny and Game of Thrones. Spoil the latest episode of the show, and he will cut you.
