Looks good. You maybe satisfy on this, you'll see your favorite Sega Games on Genesis Console. Here's the list you can grab one http://www.ranker.com/list/sega-genesis-games-list-of-games-on-genesis-console/video-games-by-console

This is a very comprehensive list. I had no idea there were more than 900?!

    1) Shining Force 2 was great, but you use a Shining Force 1 screenshot? 2) Any list without Shadowrun in the top 5 is void. Seriously, Shadowrun is like 100 times more deep than any of these games, with way more replay value.

Streets of rage 2 was uncanny! Mortal kombat 2 was untouchable! super Street fighter 2 was amaziing! Sonic 1 was a classic! Altered beast too! Pro quarterback was 1 of the best football games ever! Nba jam! Batman returns! Nba jam tournament edition! Eternal champions!

I'm surprised Beyond Oasis didn't make it to top 10. It is one of the most amazing games I've ever played. Road Rash 3 is also superb.

First of all, seriously.. where is number 6? You skip from 7 to 5 in the list. Not cool. Secondly, I hope you're saving that number 6 spot for Herzog Zwei, which is easily one of the best Genesis games and virtually invented the RTS genre.

How can you have a top 25 Genesis Games countdown and not have M.U.S.H.A?
  • NinjitsuEvolved - January 8, 2014 4:18 p.m.

No Kid Chameleon... No Shadow Dancer (although there is a screenshot at the end)... (sigh) at least Shinobi III is there, classic...

There's some good games on this list, and Streets of Rage 2 is a deserved winner. But no Shining Force (1 or 2)…well that's a crime. I still play that now. Shining in the Darkness isn't the worst, but it can't hold a candle to those later games!

Really good list, totally agree with the top 10, but you left one one of my favourite games of all time that always gets left of these lists; Dynamite Heady. It was released right at the end of the cycle but was, arguable, the best looking game on the console and had the gameplay to back it up. The hoover head alone should have earned it a space.
  • GR_JustinTowell - March 6, 2014 12:13 p.m.

Haha ahh the hoover head :P It was considered but we had to leave out a lot of very good games to get the list to 50. I think the Game Gear Dynamite Headdy had aged better, and that's represented on that list. But yes, Mr Headdy almost made this list, just got edged out by other games.

Loads of games missing from this list. Rocket Knight Adventures, Ecco, Another World, Eternal Champions, Shinobi 3, Lost Vikings, Vectorman, Dynamite Heddy, Alien Soldier, Probotector (seriously, Probotector should be in the top 5) Thor. Seriously, this list needs to be revised.
  • SouthTippBass - March 6, 2014 9:08 a.m.

And God dammit let me edit my comments already, I used seriously twice in that post.
  • DirkSteele1 - March 6, 2014 11:40 a.m.

Thor is in there at number 38. Known as Beyond Oasis in some regions. Certainly agree with some of your choices there. Just tells you there were a lot of great games on Sega's 16-bit machine.

  • newmachine - March 6, 2014 9:35 a.m.

Not on the list, but Vectorman and Vectorman 2 was my favorite!
  • Relayer71 - March 6, 2014 6:28 p.m.

Vectorman should have been on the list! It came out at the end of the system's lifespan though, so I can see many not having played it. That was a very cutting edge game, graphically speaking, for a 16 bit system. Sort of taking the baton from Donkey Kong Country and the SNES, and proving these systems still had plenty of surprises left in them in their respective twilights.
