Probably left out because the free part of Runescape is weak. Members is where it's at, man.

Runescape blows ass, so does Free Realms.
  • OHMYGODIMONFIRE - March 14, 2012 1:04 p.m.

Runescape is awesome. I spent many a days playing it back in Middle School.

I still wonder why EA does not put Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online as F2P games. I would return to these superb games for sure, but I don't feel like paying for them now. Not anymore.

Aion and Lineage II should have gotten mentions, I reckon.
  • QuickSticks45 - March 14, 2012 1:13 p.m.

I agree with you on this, but I can understand why Aion wasn't included because it went free to play literally 4 days ago and sadly it was probably too late to be added.

Sort of. I want to test it out before we put it on the list. I played it when it was pay to play and it had some issues, and I want to make sure the F2P stuff isn't a scam (since sometimes it is). If it's good, we'll add it to the list!

These aren't bad, I've also found Champions Online and Age of Conan to be quite good as well. Even Shin Megami Tensei Imagine Online, remember having some fun with that one, fusing creatures and stuff.
  • PhantomDave - March 14, 2012 1:44 p.m.

How did Age of Conan not make this list?
  • ender66 - March 14, 2012 3:33 p.m.

    Love Rusty Hearts!

If DC Universe Online counts here (being free up until a certain point) then World of Warcraft should be on this list (for having the same thing).
  • GR HollanderCooper - March 14, 2012 8:56 p.m.

DCUO has the option to play until level cap for free - WoW is only the first 20 levels.

I think it's interesting to note how at least three of these games (Everquest II, DCU Online, and Free Realms) are backed by Sony, with DCU and Free Realms available on the PS3. I wonder if the fact that those two titles are available on a console helped or hindered their relative success. Maybe that should be another article: the relative dearth of MMOs on console and why they don't have quite the market pervasiveness their PC counterparts enjoy.

Reals of the Mad god and star trek online are both worthy contenders for this accolade ^_^

I started playing DCUO last 2 months ago and i've been playing the shit out of it. Its really fun.
