Uh, I can't find one F2P game I've ever really liked but this list claims there are 100? To each their own obviously.

I don't know about now, but one of my favourite mmos was a f2p but then it sadly got moved through multiple companies and people were losing there accounts so it lost a lot of players and got shut down.

"8 rank" What are you talking about?... "So, we've rounded up the 100 best free games available on PC and consoles right now, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER."
  • josh-cruthirds - July 27, 2014 9:25 a.m.

a lot of these are either dead (very few people on them) or very limited with the free aspects of the game...in other words, look else where because this list sucks

The Secret World is one of the best F2P games anyone commenting on this isn't playing right now. Look it up and enjoy!

Again with the hundred, that's too many to be even remotely valuable. Give us 10.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the worst examples of Free-to-Play conversation that I've ever encountered. It severely locks down basic communication, massively restricts rewards, and gameplay features. It has weekly limits on Flashpoint loot rolls, and doesn't even do that right as during the time I played it, it repeatedly took loot rolls from me for items when I intentionally hit Pass because they were useless for my character. The roll is consumed regardless of whether you even get the item. The limits to movement are a mess because you can expect to be running for minutes at a time and your ability to participate in group activities (there are many quests only possible in a group spread through quest zones) is damaged because you slow down the group having to run while others have speeders. To make the game function as intended, and not be an insulting frustration, you need to either subscribe or pay a good amount of real money to unlock per character benefits.

BSGO shouldn't be a top 100 free to play game. It's only free to play if you have a free cheat engine or have decent computer hacking skills. So many people who "play" BSGO cheat that actually paying for the game is pointless, since there is nothing offered by the game company to offset the cheating and the game company does nothing to discourage the cheating. With the latest BSGO update they are actually legitimizing cheating and some of the people that are hardcore cheats by integrating either the cheats or the cheating player's setups into the game. The only reason I'm harping on about this is that it really isn't fun to try and "play" a game in which the only thing a player can do in it is to continuously spawn get defeated then respawn again. That's the "excellent" PVP action you get out of BSGO. Excellent I suppose for the cheaters, but I guess they got bored being gods since finding PVP action on some servers is more a challenge than defeating the cheaters. Not to mention all the annoying "free to play" grinding with it's accompanying annoying NPC intervention. And the end result? You get to be defeated a little slower but have the same spawn/respawn speed. To sum up: BSGO is riddled with cheaters, the level of grinding to get any in game stuff is unbelievable, and I guess I forgot all of the bugs that will probably damage your computer and result in having to buy new equipment. That should be a factor in the free to play criteria as well.

Because Aion is an AWFUL MMO. How people are still playing it I will never know. And yes, I played this game from release. It's so bad.
  • jedisamurai - May 13, 2014 12:58 p.m.

where is S4 League? Quite possibly the best f2p third person shooter with parkour mechanics. Been around since like 2008. YOU NEED TO TRY S4 LEAGUE!
