Ben Hardy confirmed as Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse. Get a first look at the wings

Ben Hardy has officially been cast in X-Men: Apocalypse, with the former EastEnders star set to play Angel. The news comes as Fox released the first official artwork of the character, revealing a brand new look...

The concept art shows the character with his wings extended, and also retracted. It should also be noted that said wings look distinctly metallic, as opposed to the traditional feathered variety.

Does this mean we are about to be introduced to Archangel? In the comic-books, Apocalypse transforms Warren Worthington’s Angel into the villainous Archangel, one of the four henchmen known as the Horsemen. It certainly looks like that could be the character’s fate here…

Directed by Bryan Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence alongside newcomers Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Tye Sheridan, X-Men: Apocalypse will open in the UK on 19 May 2016 and the US on 27 May 2016.
