The names that matter are:

The Lives Of Others

The Science Of Sleep

Climates

Pan's Labyrinth

Syndromes And A Century

The Award, which is now in its fifth year, is for the best foreign language film released in the UK in the 12 months from November 1st 2006 to October 31st 2007. The ceremony will take place at London’s BFI South Bank on January 30th 2008 and will be hosted by Jonathan Ross.

Ross said: "On display here is exciting new work by directors who are prepared to push the possibilities of film to the limit. In the cases of The Lives Of Others and Syndromes And A Century are directors - Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Apichatpong Weerasethakul - who are prepared to push my powers of pronounciation to the limit as well.”
