Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice gets an official run time

Given that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is tasked with doing so much for DC's film universe in addition to working as a film in its own right, it was a safe bet that the movie wasn't going to be on the short side. Now we know exactly how much time we'll be spending watching Zack Snyder's latest, and it might be wise to schedule a trip to the loo before the film starts.

According to AMC theatres, the official run time of Batman v Superman is 2 hours and 31 minutes; for added context, that's 13 minutes shy of The Dark Knight Rises, 9 minutes longer than Avengers: Age of Ultron, and 8 minutes longer than Man of Steel. While that run time definitely makes the film longer than your typical comic book movie, this is not necessarily a problem. As always, time will tell...

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
