Gotham City's self-made superhero, Batman, looks like he's getting suited up for another gaming adventure, but this time the DC Comics icon is going to be Lego-ised courtesy of developer Traveller's Tales.
With two excellent Lego Star Wars games already under its development belt - the second of which, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, is out next Monday (although we spotted it on sale in more than one shop today...) - the prospect of Traveller's Tales making a Batman Lego game has us pretty excited.
While the game's existence has only been revealed via investigative reports at gaming website CVG, it's no surprise that a Batman Lego game could be in the works. Indeed, Traveller's Tales holds the rights to Lego until 2012 and the developer would certainly want to exploit the licence to its fullest.
We spoke to Traveller's Tales director, John Burton, last year and this is what he told us about the benefits of making Lego games: "We can have fun with it - you can do it to Batman, you can do it to Bond, you can do it to The Sims, you can do it to Lara Croft. You can do it to so many things."
And, by 2012 we expect that Traveller's Tales will have done just that. We notice that there's a nice line in Lego Harry Potter on the shelves at the moment...
