Press x + circle to free your lure.Or, if you have the Bass Landing controller hit the button on bottom

Move Without Wasting Time

To move without wasting time simply pause the game in either free fishing or tournament. Pause the game go to map on the selection screen click on move and position your boat where you want it and press x you will be moved to where you want.
