Ouch! It's hard to misquote that.

    What's a Baldur's gate?
  • ncurry2 - April 17, 2012 6:33 p.m.

Epic douchebaggery there. Looks like I won't be picking up baldurs gate.

Who thought MDK2 on WiiWare would be a good idea in the first place? What derp!

I guess there are some things you can do on "Nintendon't". Remember everyone, genesis does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7nsBoqJ6s8

"and if Wii U owners want in, they'll have to pick up a real console like the iPad." LOL
  • Dadyo238 - April 17, 2012 6:57 p.m.

Let's watch the amount of purchasers drop after that douchebagery. Like cmon, the Wii is as much a game console as PS3 and Xbox, and MUCH more than an iPad. You say the Wii's a toy and yet you're putting your game on a big touchscreen! WADD

beamdog huh? Noted. I won't be buying a game from them ever. No amount of damage control can make up for the sheer amount of stupidity foung in those >140 characters. As a developer, you just don't talk about any console developer like that. Especially one that can program circles around you. Miyamoto's shit likely has better story telling and gameplay than your noname game. Get out of here with you iPad crap.

So he's talking about a Mac game, like its the next big thing, wow. also believe it or not people buy games for wii, like I own more wii games then ps3 games and all are quality titles which is pretty impressive

Saying the iPad is a real console is like saying a toaster is a grill. It's unfortunate that the gaming industry has devs like this Oster guy. He's the type of dev that's killing the industry. Coming from a console owner (Wii, 360, PS3, 3DS, and even a Vita) I hope that no serious gamer gives this guy any support. The Wii is a fantastic console that saw third party games under marketed by their developers. Everyone wants to blame Nintendo for everything, and it's quite unfortunate. I love my Wii and all of my 70+ games I own for it. The WiiU (while the name is terrible) is going to be awesome.

I was going to comment the exact same thing.. :p

Nice to hear his honest ”Opinions”, but putting it on Wiiware was his first mistake.(Only for a select game, Wiiwares horrible) Second, its only his to blame, Its not that Nintendo is being ”Pricks to 3rd parties” but that 3rd parties just dont know how to use the Wii's potential. Only a select few 3rd parties have use the Wii excellently, while Nintendo are praticly the best at making use of the hardware. His opinion would be more respectful if he didnt pull insults like that. The Wii U is promised to be more open to 3rd Parties, and it has and many stated. Its hugely understandable why he doesnt want to work with Nintendo again(despite it being his fault), but hopefully he'll give them another chance, especially with the Wii U's potential.

Super Mario Galaxy was a terrible game. You buy Wii Sports and nothing else.
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 7:58 p.m.

To the people quoting the whole "real console like an iPad," you do realize that was GamesRadar being facetious and not his words, right? If you spent a lot of money to produce a product and got burned, you wouldn't be a fan of said burner (in this case, Nintendo), either. That's what bugs me about gamers these days. It's almost like it's become politics. A developer says something bad about a company gamers like, and they swear to never buy another game. Whatever happened to buying products that are quality? Why are people suddenly loyal to a corporation? You make it sound like he called your grandmother a whore.

Do you think maybe MDK2 didn't sell well possibly because it was a mediocre game? Maybe he should stop blaming the console and blame himself for throwing a game onto WiiWare (the worst online game store) that doesn't belong. People who buy a Wii don't want HurrDurr's Gate, they want Zelda, Mario, Metriod, and so on. No one else's games are going to sell as well as N's core franchises. Get over it. Methinks this article should've been saved for Week of Hate. XP

The iPad thing wasn't in quotes. Pretty sure that's just Tom Goulter just trolling like a pro.
  • LordHyper - April 17, 2012 8:09 p.m.

Though they bring up good points, I thought their comments on the Wii was unprofessional.
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 8:13 p.m.

Talk down to the guy as much as you want, but did you really just talk crap about Baldur's Gate? BG is widely recognized as one of the greatest games of all time. If you've ever played and enjoyed a WRPG, I guarantee you that BG had at least some influence on it.
  • shawksta - April 17, 2012 8:22 p.m.

When people say that, its an over exaggeration to lose respect for them. Also, its not GR, other sites have the same quote, but people are overexaggerating despite HIM overexaggerating also.
  • hester2 - April 17, 2012 8:27 p.m.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a knock against GR. It just looked like people were ignoring the fact that that part came after the quotation marks. When did Wii U ever get in the picture, anyways? Wasn't this always just PC and mobile devices?
