You know you're in for a wild ride when Rebel Wilson is the tamest member of the gang.

Here, the ubiquitous Australian plays a bride-to-be who is besieged by her old high-school friends – a trio of lunatics played by Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher – for a raucous hen-do party that may just kill them all.

Another raunch-com in the vein of Bridesmaids, Bachelorette is a nearly non-stop bacchanal of booze, drugs, sex, fights and thoroughly inappropriate behaviour.

With genuine emotion low in the mix, it’s hard to spend a whole movie with characters as unlikeable as these.

But the cast tear through the film with bug-eyed glee, with Fisher and Caplan perfect as the two worst friends a girl could ever have.
