As an aspiring game journalist, I've wondered this for quite some time. Thank you so much for the information!

I was going to say the exact same thing, pretty much word for word, haha.

I like when developers will dish out the cash to fly out freelancers. It really helps people get to know each other and broaden the game industry in a good way.

Nice article. I've considered going into journalism for a while now. I live in the UK, so is it reasonable then to convert your figures into Pounds and get a roughly accurate estimate?

Though they didn't say exactly what the pay was in the UK they did say it was roughly the same, so it is probably safe to assume the conversion would be a good estimate.

I'm not going to comment on personal earnings, but I feel I should jump in for our UK readers' sakes and relay the very first thing I was told at university (in the UK) in my very first seminar on a journalism degree. 'There's no money in journalism. If you're expecting to make your fortune in journalism, leave now - very, very few people ever make a fortune out of it'. You should have seen the faces of everyone in the room. Apparently, almost a decade later, it's still the first thing they tell their students. But I will say: I love my job.
