Arrested Development film closer to reality

We've been teased for ages about the idea of Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz finally giving in to pressure and making a film based on the cult comedy series.

Since the initial rumours, fans have had to endure endless stories about how some actors are definitely up for it (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett) and some are a little more on the fence (his name rhymes with 'cycle hurrah').

And though they've been batting around ideas for months like a cat playing with a dead mouse, Hurwitz and show co-producer James Vallely wouldn't solidly pump out a screenplay until everyone was aboard.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it looks like they are, though scheduling will be a challenge since many - especially Bateman, Arnett and Cera - are now much in demand.

Hurwitz has also been busy - he created the short-lived 'toon series Sit Down, Shut Up for US telly and is working on something with Arnett.

But this brings some crazed flicker of hope that the Bluth family might finally ride again - into our cinemas. We want frozen bananas available when they do…

After all this time, should they still try it? Or was it a bad idea from the start?
