Thought you were done with Batman: Arkham City this year? Think again. Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios has created a mobile Arkham experience called Batman: Arkham City Lockdown. Seriously.
“We here at NetherRealm Studios are huge fans of Batman: Arkham City, and we were very excited to develop Batman: Arkham City Lockdown to extend the franchise experience to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios.
The game pits Batman in one-on-one battles with some of the villains from Gotham City, including The Joker, Two-Face, Solomon Grundy, and Deathstroke, though, beyond that, we really don't know how the combat works. We're guessing it's likely similar to Infinity Blade with some quick-time events thrown in the mix (as is evident from the Solomon Grundy fight in the image below), but we're really just guessing on that front.
You can check out the trailer above and some screenshots below, or you can just download it right now. Like, right this second. It's already out, that's how secretive they were with this game - NetherRealm actually finished it without anyone knowing they started it. If you have an iPhone or iPad you can pick it up in the app store for $5.99, and be sure to tell us what you think. We're dying to know how this turned out.
Oh! And there's a Batman: The Animated Series skin, too! Neat!
