Games are complicated these days. Plotlines are deep and branching. Worlds are open to explore, and to change. Major characters are expendable. Side quests are optional, dialogue trees are intricate and endings are multiple. We are the authors of our own digital experiences. Which sounds pretty great, until you reach one of those choices that you just know will affect the rest of the game.
Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of Metafalica is one of our favorite new RPGs, and its lovable lady characters are really what make it so special. If you’ve ever wished one of these irresistible maidens would venture forth from the screen and materialize in your bedroom, your desires have pretty much virtually been answered with this luxurious body pillow. The lovely pillow features the saucy and sarcastic Jacqli, one of the most powerful Reyvateils (magical girls) in the game
As the epitome of niche, Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of Metafalica will never enjoy mass-market appeal, and it’s kind of a shame. As far as JRPGs go, AT2 does absolutely everything right, with an innovative battle system that never seems to get old, well-developed characters, a complex yet easily-followable story, and even a well-streamlined map system that eliminates the tedium of traveling. Unless you totally hate RPGs, you will enjoy this game
