Android app pairs mobile games with PS3 controllers

Like playing games on your phone, but hate using your gigantic, game-dominating hands on an itty-bitty touch screen? Enjoy the convenience of carrying around your own PlayStation controller, but hate trying to squeeze your television into a backpack? Then you'll be delighted to hear the Sixaxis Controllerapp makes many mobile Android phones and tablets compatible with the Sixaxis and DualShock 3 PlayStation controllers.

The app’s developer, Dancing Pixel Studios, has released a video which explains how to get the app working and shows it in action.

The software supports up to four controllers at once as Bluetooth devices. The buttons and control sticks are fully customizable, but root accessis required for the app to work. To check if your device is compatible with Sixaxis Controller, you can use the free Sixaxis Compatibility Checkerapp.

Sixaxis Controlleris available in the Android Market for $1.66.
