He's back. To the tune of Here Comes The Hotstepper on his Feel Good Friday Spotify playlist, Destiny's Xur has swaggered back into the Tower with a new set of Exotic goods for you to umm, ahh, and say 'I've had that for years' over. This week you'll find him lurking in the Vanguard hall over to the right of the table with another bonus bundle of Exotic weaponry to celebrate the Age of Triumph.
What has Xur got this week? Let's take a look at his wares.
• Voidfang Vestments (Exotic Warlock Chest Armour) – 13 Strange Coins
• Twilight Garrison (Exotic Titan Chest Armour) – 13 Strange Coins
• Don't Touch Me (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
• MIDA Multi-Tool (Exotic Scout Rifle) – 23 Strange Coins
• Monte Carlo (Exotic Scout Rifle) and Royal Flush Ornament – 30 Strange Coins and 25 Silver Dust
• Zhalo Supercell (Exotic Auto Rifle) and Shock Hazard – 30 Strange Coins and 25 Silver Dust
• Legacy Engram (Chest Armour engram) – 31 Strange Coins
• Exotic Shard - 7 Strange Coins
• Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
• Glass Needles – 3 Strange Coins
Aaaah MIDA Multi-Tool, lovely, lovely MIDA Multi-Tool. If you don't already have this in your vault or hands, I'll try not to ask what on Earth/Mars/Venus you've been doing in Destiny and just tell you to buy it immediately. With its hair trigger and the fact that you get to keep your radar even when aiming, this is the scout rifle you've probably heard firing on a million strikes already. Hey, even if you already have it, maybe take it on a patrol today just for the deadly staccato memories. If it comes to choosing between this and Xur's other previously PlayStation exclusive scout rifle, Monte Carlo, MIDA has the edge any day.
Looking at Xur's other offerings, Zhalo Supercell is an obvious purchase as the only primary that can fire elemental damage. Zhalo shoots out arc damage and is frankly a pretty lovely auto rifle, especially as you occasionally get the chance to deliver chain lightning with one squeeze of the trigger. You can also get ammo back on double kills, making this an ideal killing machine that can effectively continue to feed itself with the death you cause. Lovely.
Moving onto armour, the Warlock Voidfang Vest gives you instant grenades when you spawn, making you very ready for revenge. This sexy sounding chest armour is perfect if you're fond of Axion Bolt grenades as it'll even add a bonus one, making you even deadlier when you respawn in the Crucible. Looking at the Titan chest armour on offer this week, the Twilight Garrison delivers the neat Tactical Air Support perk that lets you dodge in mid air. This is perfect for those tight Crucible spots where you've ended up cornered but there's another level for escape. It's frankly Matrix feeling if you time it just right. What bullets?
And finally, the Hunter's Don't Touch Me gauntlets. These are actually pretty quirky little arm protectors that deliver the Defensive Reflex perk. If you take damage from melee, you'll briefly go invisible, giving you time to get the hell out of the way and fill your foe with bullets. Saying "Don't Touch Me" out loud as it happens is entirely optional. It's a little too quirky to be useful in enough places but there's something satisfying about them none the less.
As ever, Xur will be gone by 2am PT and 10am UK time on Sunday so make sure you get your shopping in before he disappears.
