All Things To All Men review

If the words 'gritty London crime drama’ have you reaching for a sick bag, here’s something to take the taste away.

First-timer George Isaac crafts this nimble thriller about a detective staging a bank robbery with a little help from safecracker Toby Stephens and crime lord “merchant” Gabriel Byrne.

There are sharp touches (a wall-rappelling bank raid, dialogue cheekily cribbed from L.A. Confidential ), and DoP Howard Atherton seems to have a fastpass to London’s premier filming spots.

It’s not often you find a crime thriller that doubles as a tourist information video.
