Make no mistake about it, Lord of Arcana is about one thing, and one thing only: killing stuff. Sure, there’s a storyline about becoming the best of the rest, but realistically, you’re here to plow through a dungeon, murder all living inhabitants you encounter, and face off against a boss who’s too big to fit on the screen. On the plus side, the enemies are designed by artists ranging from Todd MacFarlane to Ashley Wood to Tetsuya Nomura (google ‘em if the names don’t ring a bell). But multiplayer fans might want to wait for our review...

Continuing in the tradition of the PSP remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, Square Enix is bringing back another awesomely hardcore tactics game, Tactics Ogre, which first appeared on Super Famicom in 1995 but only ever had a US release on the PlayStation in 1998. With tons of new content, beautiful new art, and an updated level of polish, it looks like they're on track to do it up right yet again.
The original Ogre Battle for SNES started with Episode 5: The March of the Black Queen, so to honor the game that started it all, here are five reasons we got super pumped for Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together during our recent first look...

Dragon Ball fans surely face no dearth of games to choose from. Soon two more entries will arrive; the first of which, Tenkaichi Tag Team, is of the portable variety, coming on PSP. As is appropriate to Dragon Ball, it’s a free-flying 1v1 fighter, except it’s really 2v2 – players can create their DBZ dream teams and tag out characters for some crazy-ass team-up moves...

We’re not exactly sure how someone can be sexy “in an 8-bit sense,” but we certainly applaud the folks at NIS America for loading up their latest retro gaming throwback with some seriously off-the-wall character dialogue and wacky self-referential humor. Amusingly, Cladun: This is an RPG literally wears its genre on its sleeve while poking fun at it in the process. Blocky 8-bit warriors, jokes about cosplay, heavy duty dungeon grinding and talking cats punctuate this promising and quirky retro RPG...
Valkyria Chronicles was one of the most gorgeous games ever released on the PlayStation 3. So how could the PSP sequel to such a beautiful title be anything but a disappointment for fans of the original? Find out why Valkyria Chronicles 2 is shaping up to be a stellar sequel and check out our interview with the game’s producer to see it in motion…

Like its tireless, rage-fueled protagonist, the God of War franchise shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Just three months after his series seemingly ended with God of War III, angry bald murder machine Kratos is back again for a second PSP side-story, God of War: Ghost of Sparta. An interquel set between the first and second games, Ghost of Sparta follows Kratos after he’s anointed as the new god of war, and will apparently reveal exactly what happened to make him take out his endless fury on the Olympian gods he once served. (Other than, you know, being tricked into killing his own family and then messily betrayed by Zeus.)

Over the past several years, THQ's WWE SmackDown franchise has evolved into a real champion, most recently offering a thick pro wrestling package loaded with awesome community features, an impressive story designer, and a wide array of today's top wrestling personalities...

A young woman sits curled up on the floor of her apartment kitchen. She holds a gun to her temple. Her hands are trembling as she prepares to pull the trigger. This is not how a typical JRPG begins. Persona 3 for the Playstation was one of the most unique and engaging role-playing games of all time with a powerful story, engaging character, and amazing artwork that carried you through 100 hours of awesomeness. We’ve been playing the heck out of Persona 3 Portable (P3P) for the PSP, so we decided to pick it apart to find out how it compares to the original…
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is going to be big. And by that, we don't mean "successful," even thought it seems to be the only PSP game anyone's interested in anymore (or was, until God of War: Ghost of Sparta was announced). No, we mean that the game itself is huge. To wit, we recently spent a whopping 16 hours playing through its story, both by ourselves and in co-op mode with other journos, and it barely feels like we scratched the surface. There's tons of stuff to do and collect, and the game kept unlocking new modes and options after we thought we'd played long enough to open up everything.

We also liked what we played - a lot. In fact, the only things we really disliked about the game were the hand cramps that developed after playing a PSP for 16 goddamn hours. To give you an idea of what sorts of things you can look forward to when the game ships on June 8, we've scraped together a list of eight vital facts we came away with from our extensive hands-on...
