EA have announced the first details of FIFA Street, a new football title that takes the beautiful game to the streets. The game is based around an urban arcade-styled kick-around where a good right peg and on-the-ball flair will earn you and your team kudos as well as victory.Venues from around the world (Brazilian beach footie, anyone?) will feature four-on-four matches as well as one-on-one encounters - where besting your immediate opponent requires skill, technique and specific moves.
Scholes, Mutu, Keane, Raul and many more are eerily recognisable in these latest shots of FIFA 2005. As ever, the advance towards photorealism throws up mixed results. While the face scans are perfect, there's no doubt that the lack of emotion on show gives the players an eery, dead-eyed thousand yard stare and, is it just us, or are the heads too big? Brrrrr...
Anyway, FIFA 2005 continues EA's slow but steady progress, augmenting its unrivalled roster of more than 350 official licenses with
Ubi Soft have shifted the tentative release date for Far Cry Instincts from the end of 2004 to the first quarter of 2005 while the bigger and better news is that the game will now also make it on to PS2 in addition to Xbox. Far Cry impressed on PC and we expect this reworked console adaptation to perform just as well, if not better. The game isn't a simple port of Far Cry but includes major new gameplay mechanics, among other changes. Our when we saw it in action recently were very favourable
Based on the excellent film Fight Club, Vivendi's beat-'em-up of the same name is being developed for PS2 and Xbox and first impressions are very promising. Unashamedly brutal and gritty, it features that one element most beat-'em-ups spurn - body damage that affects subsequent gameplay. Ooooh, we like. The game not only uses the film settings and action (naturally, seeing as it involves fisticuffs) but also follows the story. The element that has us excited is the aforementioned damage aspect.

Here are the latest shots of F-Zero: GP Legends, the newest handheld speedster from gaming's most illustrious futuristic racing series. You know the formula of mindshredding speed plus terrifyinh circuits isn't going to change but they have added a new story that's directly linked to eight of the game's characters.
Eight different characters race across planets unfolding a story.
Four grand prix cups, time trial and a challenge mode (Zero
We managed to get up close and personal with art director Christian Bedard and his new baby Far Cry: Instincts for Xbox. The recently released Far Cry is a top class PC first-person shooter miles ahead of what you could hope to see running on Xbox. Yet, seeing Instincts doing its thing on Xbox, even at this early code stage, is a real treat. Two facts underscore that this isn't a quickly knocked-out Far Cry mark II. For one, it's not a straight port (memory constraints wouldn't allow for that,

THE PITCH: Finally nearing completion, Fable was one of the titles paraded at the Xbox's launch. In developers Big Blue Box's defence, this is an ambitious project - a free-roaming world where each and every one of your actions affects your characters moral and physical development.
Action-based character development: What you do directly changes your character. Too much skulking in dark rooms will make you pale, while a strong right arm may result
On: Xbox - OUT: Winter 2005
THE PITCH: A racing game built around revolutionary "Drivatar" technology and extensive car customisation, designed and built with Xbox Live in mind.
"Drivatar" technology allows you to train your own AI Drivatars (Driving Avatar, you see) to mimic your own distinctive driving style. They can then represent you in races or, bizarrely, train further Drivatars in the mysteries of your oh-so-special techniques.

Here are the first screenshots of Final Fantasy I and II Advance. The two original Famicom RPG titles have been converted for your handheld GBA pleasure and have new material, to boot. There have been gameplay and graphical tweaks to both games but the two main new features are a dungeon called Soul of Chaos in FFI and the Soul of Rebirth story update in FFII. Final Fantasy games were class from their inception so these conversions are a welcome addition from the legendary series. In related
