To say this is influenced by Monkey Island (classic PC adventure series) would be something of an understatement. It apes that point ’n click game in terms of tone, location and humour. Fortunately, it has enough charm and wit of its own to be an entertaining and engaging adventure aimed at gamers new to adventure games. The character of Jack Keane is likeable but not a patch on Monkey Island’s Guybrush Threepwood. Fans of the

An ambulance has just arrived and its lights are flashing. The Ex-Jackass director lies sprawled on the cement and the camera has been dropped. It looks bad but quickly gets worse as you learn that he's "sprained his vagina." How will the boys film their new season without a guy to hold the camera? Will they find a new professional director? Use a tripod? Become an animated series? No, it's up to you - the guy who happened to be standing there when the accident happened - to
Were trying desperately to replenish our chi before our scantily-clad female character wades back into kung fu combat with a flaming horse demon. Of course, thats pretty much par for the course in Jade Empire, BioWares latest role-playing epic in which the traditional fantasy trappings have been replaced with a mythical Chinese setting. But being a port of a two-year-old Xbox title, is this a case of glorious reincarnation or ageing master?
The first act introduces you to the controls and the
Welcome back Jak and Daxter. After four years of throwing darts at pictures of Ratchet & Clank, PlayStation’s original dynamic duo are back. As comebacks go, it’s a return to form: an inventive platformer that charms and challenges in equal measure.

When Californian studio Naughty Dog veered off from the 3D platformer path and into GTA territory with its second Jak game, it made at least two significant mistakes. First, it thought buzzing around a cityscape in hovercars would be as much fun as hammering around streets in cars (it wasn't - by a yawning margin), and second, it failed to thoroughly playtest its work, resulting in a selection of missions so frustrating in their make-up only the masochistic could find them pleasurable. Both
Private eye Jake Hunter is remarkable not for his skills of deduction but for the fact he hasn’t spontaneously combusted in a cloud of tar and nicotine. So desperate is this game to highlight Hunter’s gumshoe credentials, he’s lighting up cigarettes every other minute. You even tap a shoulder button to enter a special smoking mode to help our sleuthing hero think better.
Although we're big fans of point-and-tap whodunit games like the Phoenix Wright series, we can't quite get behind private detective Jake Hunter. Detective Chronicles has a ton of potential, but ham-handed presentation and "so simple a baby could do it" hand-holding make this gumshoe seem more like a goofball.
There are three cases for you to play through, all of which involve you going to a crime scene, talking to everyone until you

Your real guitar might be lurking at the back of your cupboard next to Mouse Trap, but your DS could soon rekindle those derailed dreams of becoming the next Hendrix. Great in theory - but by seemingly every single account, learning to play Jam Sessions requires as much discipline (and thumb-gymnastics) as the guitar

For those approaching Jam with the Band at its most basic level, it acts as a Guitar Hero-style rhythm action game that has you pushing varying combinations of buttons in time with the music. As you’d expect, this ranges from simple, timed single-presses in amateur mode, to a finger-knotting combo of inputs at the pro level...

In the first mission of Blood Stone you skydive onto a yacht, shoot a dozen or so enemies in their stupid little heads, and jump into a million-dollar boat for a high-speed chase. Not exactly what you’d call formulaic.
That is, until the second mission, when you fly onto a dock, shoot several dozen henchmen in their stupid little heads, and jump into a million-dollar car for a high-speed chase. Nice...
