Capcom is bundling eight of its most
notable Xbox Live Arcade downloads for release as a retail
compilation disc exclusively for Xbox 360. Appropriately titled the "Capcom Digital Collection", the compilation will include a mix of
updated Capcom classics such as Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD
Remix, and picks some of the studio's newer (and slightly less wordy)
franchises...

Game of Throne fans will soon have upwards of three new ways to play
George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book epic. According to
reports, the series is currently being adapted into an RPG for
consoles, a free-to-play MMO for browsers, and a social networking game for
release in 2012...

It's unlikely that Professor Layton or Dr Kawashima would ever get in an actual proper fight that involved slapping and spitting. Neither of them seem like men of violence. Four new retro titles have arrived on the Wii Virtual Console, the most notable of which is the excellent Genesis adventure Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole.
For the ignorant, it has you play as elvish treasure hunter Nigel (yes, Nigel) as he undertakes a quest to gather treasure through the villages, caves and dungeons of Mercator Island.
Joining Landstalker (which is the usual 800 Wii points, by the way) is NES side-scroller Adventure Island, obligatory TurboGrafx

has announced sale prices on nine titles across PlayStation Network
and Xbox Live, offering cheap retro reissues of some solid classics
and newer titles alike. PSN fans get their discounts immediately,
whereas XBLA subscribers have to wait a week. Knowing what happens
when XBLA players get impatient (namecalling, griefing, possibly the
Apocalypse), 2K's stepped in with some bargain content available
right now...
Looks like the week before Halloween is becoming a week for scary
sales, with multiple price cuts at retailers happening, including a worthwhile
Amazon sale.
Now Microsoft is joining in on the chilling price drops with its Shocktober promotion,
which this week includes multiple price cuts on some of the best spooky content
on Xbox Live. Games like Dead Rising and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are

As the console wars continue, a new contender in the digital download conflict emerges. Publisher and developer Electronic Arts has announced that it’ll be offering “platform exclusives” in the form of games only available through its own download service, Origin. The announcement coincides with new exclusivity requirements added for rival digital distribution service Steam, which have already seen Crysis 2 and other titles removed from its catalogue.
“You talk about platform exclusives like Halo or Uncharted,” explains EA's Frank Gibeau: “EA's going to have some of our own platform exclusives.” The “Only on Origin” badge has already shown up on advertising for Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2...
