Gaming is an up and down experience. Some years cram top quality titles into our every orifice until were bursting with videogame joy and have excess polygons dripping messily out of our ears, while some other years… Well, some other years are 1983.
In 2007 though, weve had a very good year indeed. A scarily good year in fact. One which has provided us so much brilliance on every format that its a genuine worry that the laws of karmic balance will soon bring us a plague

Ubisoft has offloaded its weekly release schedule, revealing a handful of delays for its 2008 shooters Far Cry 2, Haze and Brothers in Arms.
As if we didn't know already, the French publisher has confirmed that Free Radical shooter Haze won't make it into the shops this year, and is now destined for release in "early 2008".
Meanwhile Far Cry 2 has seen a month delay, putting its release back to March - though from what little we've seen of it so far we'll be impressed if it even

Software... update. Two extremely dull words that, when combined, become even duller. So why is the entire gaming community currently abuzz about the next iteration of the Xbox 360 dashboard? When did mandatory software upgrades become so dramatic and controversial?
