Activision has released shots and details of X-Men: The Official Movie Game which is the working title for its spin-off game for upcoming X-Men film The Last Stand, due out this summer.

Bad news if you're bored of XBLA arcade shooters and puzzle games; there are plenty of them lined up for the next few weeks.
As well as confirming this week's release, (another) arcade shooter Mutant Storm Empire, Microsoft has detailed the seven games in the running for the next few weeks including N+, Switchball and, uh, SpongeBob SquarePants.

MGS 4 is finally out this week, and so the rumour mongers are out in force with some willy-teasing info for us to ponder.

Good news cheapskates; Microsoft is slashing the price of a handful of Xbox Live Arcade games by half - for this weekend only.
Gauntlet, Dig Dug, Zuma Deluxe and (something worth buying) Small Arms have all been slashed for the weekend, the first two down to 200 ($2.50 or £1.70) points and the latter two for 400 points ($5.00 or £3.40).
The last one - a Power Stone-style fighter/platformer from Gastronaut - is definitely worth picking up if you've got some points

Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division, has thrown down the gauntlet to Sony's PlayStation Network, insisting that Xbox Live has "no rivals."
