  • This is a simple video. But it becomes mind-blowingly exciting when you consider the following fact:. If Nintendo does indeed deliver on the promise of full Gamecube game downloads on the Wii U, and if it gives them proper HD and widescreen support, Nintendo's entire last-gen back catalogue could suddenly look this good. Click on, and try to to think of F-Zero and Rogue Squadron.

    Go on, I dare you.

  • With the 3DS launch a little more than a month away, it’s about time Nintendo’s US branch at last revealed what games will be available when March 27 rolls around. 16 total games are hitting retail the same time as the new handheld, but are all of them winners? Probably not...

  • Freedom of speech? Bah! Who wants that? Games are clearly rotting humanity’s collective eternal soul and must be banned accordingly. The following collection of violent, titillating titles have offended censors all over the world. Some have been beaten to death by the banning bat for their gory deaths, others for displaying acts of girl-on-girl action, while one was even banned for having a two-headed cow. Really, just what is this

"Three fifty hour games to be savoured and explored," Delay laments on Introversion's official blog, "all [released] within six weeks of each other. This is surely somebody's idea of a cruel joke".

  • 20th Dec, 2007 Gaming is an up and down experience. Some years cram top quality titles into our every orifice until were bursting with videogame joy and have excess polygons dripping messily out of our ears, while some other years… Well, some other years are 1983. In 2007 though, weve had a very good year indeed. A scarily good year in fact. One which has provided us so much brilliance on every format that its a genuine worry that the laws of karmic balance will soon bring us a plague

  • Ever-ready to cut through critical bias and drummed-up presale data, Raptr has released its Raptr Report for 2011, with data on which games commanded the most player attention. The report breaks the year's releases down into categories, calculating total playtime by Raptr's 10+ million users over launch month, per-player launch-week playtime and launch-month session length. There's a few surprises in there, but the list's two standouts are both November releases...

  • Amazon's Cyber Monday sale is stretching out over the whole week, allowing bargain-friendly players an opportunity to capitalize on the company's generosity (and/or unawareness of what constitutes a “Monday”). Today is the sale's PC Games Day, with 40-75% off the download price of some no-fooling AAA titles; there's also some lightning deals so limited that you might actually miss out on them if you finish reading this sentence. Too late (maybe)...

  • With PSN finally clambering back to its feet (slightly shakily, but it's getting there), Sony has announced the contents of its 'Welcome Back' package. Understanding how put out gamers have been with 24 days without access to PlayStation Store or online gaming, free games and more are being lavished upon each and every existing PlayStation Network user. Hooray! The content is slightly different to the US package, so let's see what us European gamers can expect when the Store is back online.
