It turns out Sega's Viking: Battle of Asgard - previously spotted on retail listings - is the real deal after all. The official fanfare's gone out and the Viking actioner is heading to Xbox 360 and PS3 early next year.
For the simple minded out there (like the window cleaners who left glass on our desks this morning), it sounds a bit like God of War with big, beardy Vikings. Playing as a barbarian called Skarin, Sega says you'll engage in a fierce struggle within the realm of the
Some games truly evolve. Prince of Persia, for instance, is now a million miles from where it started. So too, Sonic the Hedgehog and even Mario. Over the last ten years, these games have either changed direction totally, or shaken up the basic gameplay elements and crafted a similar yet far-removed experience. Some other games... haven't.

This is hardcore. Or so everyone says. But what is "hardcore?" To us gamers, it means the kind of game that serious gamers devote their time to. You know, hundreds of hours of time. The kind of game that kept Granny away from gaming until Wii came along. It's about depth - of learning and understanding a game before truly mastering it. We've managed to dig up the first image of the recently announced Viva Pinata DS and it shows how the game will take advantage of the handheld's dual screens. As you can see in the shot below, garden and pinata duties will be performed on the touch screen, while general status info will be displayed up top. But now we bring you a nice crystal-clear image of the Hori Fighting Stick EX2. A similar stick was released alongside VF5

Summer vacation totally sucks; youre not in a strict learning environment and you regularly have the soul-crushing decision of either staying in bed until noon or waking up early to trick youngsters into painting fences for you. Before you even think about hitting that mid-July slump, Microsoft has already tasked its super-scientists with conquering the flesh-eating disease that is Summer Boredom with combat-space-shooter, Project Sylpheed and the stealth-horror-shooter, Vampire Rain.
