And next gen gaming got a big kick in the pants - thanks to a year of lonely rule by the Xbox 360. PC gaming fought fire with nukes, waging its battle against the console-based onslaught. In short, it ruled.

Gaming is an up and down experience. Some years cram top quality titles into our every orifice until were bursting with videogame joy and have excess polygons dripping messily out of our ears, while some other years… Well, some other years are 1983.
In 2007 though, weve had a very good year indeed. A scarily good year in fact. One which has provided us so much brilliance on every format that its a genuine worry that the laws of karmic balance will soon bring us a plague

has announced sale prices on nine titles across PlayStation Network
and Xbox Live, offering cheap retro reissues of some solid classics
and newer titles alike. PSN fans get their discounts immediately,
whereas XBLA subscribers have to wait a week. Knowing what happens
when XBLA players get impatient (namecalling, griefing, possibly the
Apocalypse), 2K's stepped in with some bargain content available
right now...

We reported earlier today the list of confirmed (and unconfirmed) games that are scheduled to appear at E3 2010. Just a few moments after that story went live, Capcom sent along its own email blast containing its entire lineup, plus the promise of other games to be announced during next week's media onslaught.

Today Sony via the PlayStation Blog
announced its new PlayStation Network promotion. Titled “Only on PSN,” the blog
post highlighted multiple downloadable offerings like this week’s Eufloria and Rochard,
plus the Infamous 2 DLC Festival of Blood. And tucked away at the bottom, given
barely a mention was the real big news: Starting tomorrow a handful of
underrated PS2 games will be available for download, including staff favorites
like Odin Sphere and God Hand...

Oh PS3, you really must work on this tardiness. Youre a strong student with a lot of brains, and you can produce good work when you put your mind to it, but with this persistent lateness youre not only letting us down, but youre letting yourself down too. We know youve only just joined us and that youve had to take some time to settle in, but youre really going to have to start applying yourself from now on.
