Wii is the punching bag of the games industry, regularly (though not undeservedly) saddled with the “kiddie crap” moniker and more associated with forgettable shovelware than legitimately good games. Those of us who own and actively play Wii obviously don’t share this view, but it’s almost impossible to read any piece of Wii news, be it feature, review or just straight reporting, without weeding out the “Wii sux who cares" crowd.

Not everyone owns an iPhone, it just seems that way because they get all the coverage. Android owners know Google's platform has plenty of quality apps too, though it can be tough sifting through the dross. The following 25 have caused us a few sleepless nights and some very sore fingertips...

The Wii's success was unprecedented. Sell-outs were expected... but for months? For years? For a system that sported last-gen graphics and didn't have an impressive launch line-up? No one saw the Wii coming, and though it didn't see the same number of AAA titles as the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 did, the system still had a large library of extremely inventive, wonderful games that took full advantage of its strong motion controls to create utterly unique experiences.
