Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter gets a teaser trailer

The first teaser trailer for historical vampire horror Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has been released online in all its axe-grinding glory.

Based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith, the film reveals American president Abraham Lincoln’s secret life as an axe-swinging vampire slayer.

Timur Bekmambetov’s in the driving seat as director, while Benjamin Walker plays the eponymous hunter.

Check out the trailer below…

Revelling in slow-mo and shadows, this first look at Vampire Hunter has definitely whet our appetite (for blood). Flush with off-kilter camera angles and stylish cinematography, it’s looking like Bekmambetov’s most accomplished work to date.

Though we don’t get to see much of Walker’s ability to thesp, there’s no disregarding his skills with an axe – we’ve never seen a blade flipped quite so beautifully as it is here.

This is a teaser through and through, though – minimal dialogue, and a snowstorm of amazing visuals. We can’t wait to see the full trailer.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in UK cinemas on 2 August 2012.
