If you were planning on transferring your DSiWare titles and buying classic Game Boy games for your 3DS on launch day, you'd better put those plans on hold. During Nintendo's quarterly earnings call, company president Satoru Iwata said that there will be a very important update to the 3DS in late May.

3DS manufacturing has been optimized so that there won't be a need for a slimmer version of the system - at least not in the short term, says Nintendo research and development guy Kenichi Sugino.
