Nintendo has unveiled its second quarter 3DS and Wii lineup. Its biggest draw? A re-mastered version of a game released in 1998! Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be released on June 19. With such a mediocre 3DS launch lineup, we're a little surprised that neither Kid Icarus nor Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D were mentioned. Perhaps they'll come in July?
Official Nintendo Magazine is celebrating the success of the Nintendo 3DS console with a world-first interactive cover created with the help of its readers. On sale 14th April, the next issue features the best 100 readers’ Miis on a special gatefold cover, selected from the thousands sent in by committed Nintendo fans via the magazine's website.
Best bit? You can get hold of any of them you like for your own 3DS, thanks to the eldritch magic of the handheld's QR code scanning function.
Our friends at Official Nintendo Magazine UK have a new episode of Nintendo TV ready for you via the Wii's Nintendo Channel. Let them tell you about this week's goodness:
This week NintendoTV sit down for a huge exclusive interview with producer Yoshinori Ono. We got the inside knowledge on the new 3DS Street Fighter title and Ono-san gave us an insight into the amount of street passing that’s taking place at Capcom HQ. Check out the trailer here:
I've been saying it for ages. Augmented reality has a major part to play in the future of handheld gaming. With GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and cameras in our mobile phones, the potential for blurring our real-world exploration with our gaming is a thrillingly exciting no-brainer. Why the iPhone isn't absolutely flooded with shooters, RPGs and adventure games laid over real-world locations I do not understand. Fortunately though, Nintendo has already cemented AR gaming as a core pillar of the 3DS experience by installing a stack of it onto the console out of the box.
And now we have the announcement of the first, full-size third party edition. And things are (hopefully) going to get really spooky.
GamesRadar’s Web Designer Cheryll Del Rosario is a lot cooler than me. Last weekend, I organized my closet and took a really long nap. Trust me. It was ultra boring. Meanwhile, Cheryll was busy stomping through the streets of San Francisco’s Chinatown, kicking ass, drinking bubble tea, and looking amazing in her awesome Chun-Li outfit. Check out the highlights from her journey in our Super Cheryll Photo Tour…
So, UK tabloid shit-rag The Sun continues its glorious tirade of heroic bloodshed against the 3DS. Comprising serious, cutting-edge journalism and in no way a simple flailing attempt to cash in on Google rankings by creating stories with popular search terms following the 3DS' launch, The Sun's campaign against Nintendo's little handheld vomit-generator and burner-out of innocent children's eyes today makes use of a SERIOUS SCIENTIFIC TEST to prove just what an eldritch hellspawn terror the seething little bastard is.
Also, it's a hilarious load of old cobblers and I'm now going to kick the crap out of it. Who's coming with me? It won't take long, I assure you.
How far would you go to pay tribute to the game you love? Write a forum post? Draw a picture? Debase yourself by composing some sexy fan fiction? Write to the developer in your own blood professing a tearful need to touch him or her and smell their musk with your snivelling nose?
Well these guys have gone further (in a way). How does dedicating eight years of one's life to creating the ultimate playable remake/tribute/ultra-edition remix of your favourite game with enough extra content to sink a thousand Mortal Kombats sound? Yeah, exactly. And how about doing all that for Streets of Rage? Click on. I have some terrifying stats for you. Terrifying like angry robots.

A new promotional album from the band, titled 'Metal for Gamers,' was released as a free download today. The three-track recording apparently represents a new direction for the group, which has traditionally created instrumental metal...

In under an hour, Retrothon, a 48-hour retro gaming marathon, will kick off in support of Child's Play. The brave participants will be streaming 164 games, from the Atari 2600 to the SNES, and hope to raise at least $1000 for the charity by the conclusion of the event.
