has released this short clip of Star Fox 64 3D to remind you that the game's
not all talking animals exchanging action-movie pleasantries in spaceships. Oh
no, there's also talking animals trading warm-hearted banter in tanks, and
talking animals in submarines feebly making excuses for the dire
underperformance of said submarines (on the plus side, keep shooting, because
you've got lots of torpedoes). But hey, don't those landmaster levels look
better than ever? Not a huge orange beach-ball explosion in sight...
The 3DS price-drop
was disheartening for many early adopters, though rumors are it’s not going to
be the last blow that Nintendo “Ambassadors” will be dealt. Nintendo is supposedly
holding a pre-Tokyo Game Show event for the 3DS on September 13 - a rumor that
has already lead to a small bump in the company’s stock according toBloomberg Japan. While Nintendo may be
using this time to talk about improved sales, tease upcoming games, or announce
release dates, word on the street is that they’ll be taking the stage to
announce a full-blown redesign of the 3DS.
This 3DS reboot rumor comes from French site 01Net, which cites a source from within
Nintendo claiming that the 3DS will re-launch in 2012, sporting a remodeled
body and a second circle pad. Nintendo is apparently disappointed that it
didn’t originally include a second circle pad with the 3DS, and hopes to not
only add one in this new iteration, but to create a detachable version for the
current 3DS that will retail for around $10...
According to Raptr, only 10 percent of players actually finished the last
mission in Red Dead Redemption. This is why we can’t have nice things
We like games – and since you’re reading this site, it seems safe to assume
that you like games, too. But according to a recent CNN report, most players
don’t finish the games they start…
The Videogame History Museum doesn't exist. But it could exist if the project gets enough help during the last few days of fundraising. The organizers of the Classic Gaming Expo, Joe Santulli, Sean Kelly, and John Hardie, hope to reach their fundraising goal of $30,000 in the next nine days. If they can do it, they've pledged to create a permanent home for their collection of over 30,000 objects of gaming antiquity in Silicon Valley and put together a mobile unit that they'll send to as many gaming trade shows as possible. They were one of our favorite parts of this year's E3, but just getting the small subset of the full collection took the three of them over two months of preparation. With a mobile unit they'd be much more... err, mobile...
Dutifully purchased your 3DS in time for the Ambassador program, but holding your breath waiting for your free games come September? What with the slightly fiddly implementation of the reward program – some users are reporting they didn't receive a confirmation notice, and others are becoming distressed at the lack of any continued reassurance on the eShop – Nintendo has launched a way to check your status online. Simply proceed to the company's conformation page, input your serial number and breathe easy – or find a problem, freak the hell out and keep reading for some troubleshooting steps. Then bask in the satisfaction that your efforts have lifted the 3DS' sales from “dire” into “satisfying to some”!
Have a good
weekend guys? GamesRadar sure did, as we got a bit of a tune-up this weekend
after our 24-hour marathon. After updates to much of the behind-the-scenes
stuff you need not worry about, GR is back online, so everything is different,
yet also the same. Exciting, huh?
The premier of Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D is over (it was only one day long), but there's still at least one way to catch this full-length feature fist-fest of a film. The game Tekken 3DS will include a copy of Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D — it's a bit of a smaller screen, but if you look closely you'll still get a full-size helping of awesomeness and radballs...
You may remember how angry I got when a Sonic fan video took Sonic and Knuckles' first level, Mushroom Hill, and reimagined it in glorious 3D. I wasn't angry because it was bad - I was angry because it was so good, it made every real modern side-scrolling Sonic game look a bit crap in comparison. Well, never one to shy away from potential outcry from its fanbase, Sega's tempting a direct comparison by making a 3D-ised version of Mushroom Hill in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations. There are screens. You can see them here. But is it looking good, or am I going to have to turn green and bust out of my shirt again?
After last week’s price drop, the Nintendo 3DS had its highest sales in Japan since February 26 and 27, the weekend it launched. The device sold 214,821 units between August 8 and 14 according to data released Tuesday by game magazine publisher Enterbrain Inc. The price drop went into effect on the August 11, knocking the Japanese retail cost from 25,000 to 15,000 yen (in the US the price went from $249.99 to $169.99 on August 12)...
New screenshots (and now trailers too - woot!) of Resident Evil: Revelations have risen from their Gamescom graves and shuffled into our inboxes with the kind of moan usually reserved for Saturday morning hangover woe. But that doesn't mean they're not utterly welcome - Resi Revelations is looking fantastic and easily the best-looking 3DS game to date. So open your eyes wide and let it into your lovely, juicy brain...
