3 reasons WWE Legends of WrestleMania bodyslams your expectations

3) Presentation

Lastly, you get a wave of 80s flavored nostalgia as soon as the loading screen starts. The old, yellowed fonts announcing wrestlers return, as well as smaller touches. Remember the old guard rails, and not those funky wooden, black protectors separating fans from the ring? Well, those guard rails return, as well as the old blue mats on the floor. We also spied the old WWF - yes WWF - title belt, wrapped firmly around the Hulkster’s midsection.

Howard Fink is the ring announcer, while Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross handle match announcing duties. It would’ve been cool to see Jessie Ventura announce with Gorilla Monsoon, but something tells us that’s not happening. We hear the old blue steel cage will return, but we didn’t get to see it. Oh, and the game is gorgeous, despite the liberties taken with each grappler we saw. No, Hogan was never that buff and he had already lost much of his hair by 1987. Andre was never that buff either. And we suppose there might be some magic lost if Stone Cold entered the ring wearing two knee braces. But the overall presentation was enough to jog our memory and release happy wrestling-related endorphins.

Of the talent appearing the game, we can only say the following for sure: Hogan, Andre, Bobby Heenan, the Rock, Stone Cold and Jimmy Hart. We hear the final cast would be upwards of 80 or so superstars, but we can’t confirm nor deny that. However, we leave you with the main events of the first 15 WrestleMania’s to get you speculating.

WM1: Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff
WM2: Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage
WM3: Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant
WM4: Randy Savage vs Ted DiBiase for Vacated WWF title
WM5: Randy Savage vs Hulk Hogan
WM6: Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior
WM7: Sgt. Slaughter vs Hulk Hogan
WM8: Hulk Hogan vs Sid
WM9: Bret Hart vs Yokozuna AND Yokozuna vs Hulk Hogan

WM12: Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels in a 60-minute Iron Man match
WM13: Sid vs Undertaker in a no-DQ match

its a good idea but why simplify the buttons smackdown vs raw 2009 was the best to date and is ultimatly fun with lots of moves having only the front buttons will hopefully not result in having to push a combo of buttons (warzone and Attitude on PS1 anyone lol)

I concure with chrisat928 for the love of god let Ricky the Dragon be in this game he was amazing and paved the way for the likes of the hardy's and ray mysterio in acrobatic mental stunt wrassling action. Hulk should have an option to wear his vest with the ability to tear it off anytime during a fight with I am a real american kicking in lol!

For all that is good and holy, let Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat be in this game! I would love to Relive his Wrestlemania III match vs 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. PLEASE!!

I think i am going to get this game, I miss the good ole wrestlers back in the day, nw we have these crazy, stupid, characters like hornswoggle, cryme tyme, etc. and i'm glad they mad the controls were simplified, there are just way to many button combinations in the newer games, ecspecially since there not made like the wwf no mercy or wwe day of reckoning.

Im kind of disappointed to hear they will be simplifying everything but I will probably still buy it. I cant stand watching wrestling on tv anymore but I love playing the games.

i think tghis game should be good, because you can recreate history or make your own, should be a nice change from smackdown vs raw for the past few years

If Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the Bushwackers were in this, i'd probably buy it! I'd probably settle for the Ultimate Warrior and the Warlord though.

I liked the momentum level idea. Kinda makes it more like the show.
