What about Frankenstein Army and Banshee Chapter? I would highly suggest all of the GR staff that likes more "stays with you and fucks with you when you're alone at night going up the stairs" horror to go for Banshee Chapter, but if you love monster-movies, well, Frankenstein Army goes FAR above and beyond!!

This list is missing two disturbing, disgusting films. Melancholie der Engel and A Serbian Film I'm surprised to see Salo acknowledged.

I couldn't get past the baby-rape scene in A Serbian Film.

I was gonna suggest Requiem for a Dream, but as I kept moving through the list, it doesn't even come close.

    I felt the same.

Battle Royale was kind of disturbing. When I saw it I also got mad at Hunger Games. I mean just how blatantly can you rip something off?

I've seen Martyrs, and I really wish I hadn't , it's a truly horrible movie (not so much in cinematic merit more it's overall purpose). It made me think, why would you make this, and who is thinking up this stuff. The Exorcist doesn't come anywhere close to it in terms of disturbing for me, demons and are supernatural and as such cross the suspension of disbelief divide a lot quicker and, as such, surrender their ability to be truly disturbing. Another disturbing film i'd put in there is 'The Skin I Live In', it is not gory at all but the subjects it deals with are truly disturbing ones.

Agreed. Martyrs should be way higher on the list. I thought it was an amazing movie. I knew nothing about it going in and I was blown away. I suggested it to one of my horror-loving buddies, and I got a text from him "I'm about half way through, it's pretty good". I replied "Wait for it..." about half an hour later I just got a text back full of expletives. Now THAT'S a good movie.

One question remains though GR : Why the fuck would you put that on your website?
  • punishment - October 31, 2014 7:44 a.m.

Sophia posted recently that they were expanding their content to movies as well.
  • BaraChat - October 31, 2014 9:38 a.m.

Wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info. Although it was not only the "movie" part of it I was bewildered by, it was also the content. Good Lord I couldn't get through half the list without physically feeling sick and depressed about mankind as a whole. I cannot for the life of me figure out why those movies exist and why people like them. I'm usually extremely open-minded, but this I can't get my head around. It's not my intention to insult anyone, and I'm sorry if I did. The sick, twisted and inhumane nature of it all was too much for me to handle without expressing myself.

The first slide did say you needed a strong stomach for the feature.
  • BaraChat - October 31, 2014 6:24 p.m.

True. And I discovered I don't have one.
