2015 Bafta winners: the full list

The 2015 British Academy Film Awards (better known as the Baftas) have been handed out, with Boyhood named Best Film. In terms of number of gongs, The Grand Budapest Hotel was the big winner of the night, with five awards in total, but no film seemed to dominate this year.

Boyhood won three awards in total: film, Best Director for Richard Linklater, and Best Supporting Actress for Partricia Arquette. The upstart of the evening was Whiplash - with the jazz-drumming drama taking home three awards, including a much-deserved Best Supporting Actor prize for J.K. Simmons. The Theory Of Everything was also level pegging with three awards: Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay and Leading Actor for Eddie Redmayne, whose victory could see him inch into the front of the pack ahead of the Oscars.

It was no surprise that Julianne Moore took the Leading Actress prize for Still Alice, with a performance that has dominated this awards season.

After a huge Oscar snub, The LEGO Movie was a popular winner in the Animated Film category. Of all the major candidates tonight, it was Birdman that fared the worst, with only one victory from a whopping 10 nominations.
