2013 Oscar nominations announced

The nominations have arrived for the 2013 Oscars, and Lincoln is leading the field once again with a whopping haul of 12 nods.

The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting actress, backing up its sweep of nominations at yesterday’s BAFTA announcement.

Elsewhere, Life Of Pi , Argo and Les Miserables all scooped a host of nominations, while Silver Linings Playbook also scored well in the acting categories, amassing an impressive eight nominations in total.

Skyfall suffered a disappointment though, failing to register any nominations in the major categories. Adele did at least get the nod for Best Original Song for her title track.
