12 Years A Slave wins Best Picture at Critics Choice Awards

12 Years A Slave has been named Best Picture at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, with Lupita Nyong’o also winning Best Supporting Actress and John Ridley scooping Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Critics’ Choice Best Picture has corresponded with Best Picture at the Oscars six years out of the last seven, which bodes well for Steve McQueen’s widely acclaimed film.

Meanwhile, Gravity and American Hustle were also recognised in the list of winners, bagging Best Sci-Fi / Horror Movie and Best Comedy respectively.
