10 Awesome Quoteskine Movie Posters

Inception

Artist Lee Crutchley has kindly allowed us to show off some of his fantastic movie mash-up artwork. Check out his beyond awesome Tumblr page here .

What’s Being Mashed-Up: A quote from trippy mind-scramble Inception and the giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from, like you need telling, Ghostbusters the first.

Attention To Detail: It’s all about that hat, and the tiny, embroidered words hidden there.

Quoteskine Says: “I'm a big fan of taking two separate references and putting them together to make something new. This idea actually came to me while I was in the cinema watching Inception . I've always been one for dreaming and thinking big, but The Stay Puft Man is a stark warning of just what can happen when you do, so be careful kids… And if your big dreams do go wrong, you know who to call!”

Back To The Future

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Michael J. Fox vehicles (ahem) Back To The Future and Teen Wolf .

Attention To Detail: We’re loving that backward arrow. Perfect.

Quoteskine Says: “The ‘80s produced some of my favourite ever films and the Back To The Future trilogy (forgetting the third one of course) are right up there for me. Michael J. Fox also starred in another of the best and I always wondered what would've happened if Doc Brown had lived in Beacon Town rather than Hill Valley…”

Scarface

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Darling clone experiment gone wrong Mini-Me and Al Pacino’s infamous bloodbath epic Scarface .

Attention To Detail: This has to be one of our favourites simply for its near pin-precision recreation of the original poster – except warped in an unexpected way.

Quoteskine Says:
“I've seen so many different Scarface t-shirts, posters, coasters, paintings etc featuring this quote that I really wanted to do something different with it. I basically just said the quote again and again in my head until something popped in there. That something was Mini-Me, Dr. Evil's ‘little friend’ - Yeah I know. I'm weird.”

Swingers

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Yeah, Swingers and some flick called Star Wars .

Attention To Detail: These characters really would probably be rolling it in – genius!

Quoteskine Says: Swingers is all about being money, or cool to the rest of us. As soon as I saw this quote had a Star Wars reference in it I started to think about the most ‘money’ characters from that universe. Vader, Fett and the Stormtroopers get my vote every time. And I think we all know that in reality Luke and his crew wouldn't have stood a chance!”

Anchorman

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Anchorman ’s moustached Ron Burgundy gets trapped in his very own Superman -style prison.

Attention To Detail: It really looks like Will Ferrell!

Quoteskine Says: Anchorman has got to be one of the most quotable films ever made, I could probably do a different illustration for almost every single line! This was another one where I just sat thinking about the quote until an idea popped into my head. I haven't seen Superman 2 since I was about 12, so I've no idea where this came from!”

Blade Runner

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Rutger Hauer’s villainous Replicant from Blade Runner becomes a literal battery.

Attention To Detail: Is it wrong that we’re drawn to the nipples? Oh alright, the circuitry is very nifty indeed.

Quoteskine Says: “This quote comes at the end of the film when Roy Batty realises his four years are up and his batteries are about to run out. There's a few more lines to it, but I thought this opening line was the most powerful, and apt for the illustration. Although my favourite line is the final one, which was apparently improvised by Rutger Hauer during filming ‘All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.’”

Fight Club

What’s Being Mashed-Up: The stars of Fight Club wibble into a pseudo-3D image.

Attention To Detail: Who says 3D is devoid of creativity? Lee here proves that there’s plenty of scope for psychoanalytical thinking behind the money-spinning process.

Quoteskine Says: “This is essentially a spoiler alert, but I can't imagine many people reading Total Film haven't seen Fight Club ! The idea is playing on a mixture of the current 3D boom and the split-personality theme of the film. The blue is The Narrator (whose name we never learn) and the red is Tyler Durden. The idea being that a set of 3D glasses would give you the complete picture of ‘me’.”

Shaun Of The Dead

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Zombie-slayer Shaun gets a light smattering of gore along with one the flick’s chuckle-worthy lines.

Attention To Detail: Another stellar likeness – right down to the headband and the watch.

Quoteskine Says:
“I think the whole ‘You've got red on you’ joke was about the fact that by the end of the film Shaun was totally covered in blood. This is just a pretty literal representation of that joke. You can't really beat a good severed zombie head.”

Predator

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Predator ’s tough-as-Biltong Blain Cooper gets his very own brand of plasters.

Attention To Detail:
So well-thought-through that we want a box of Blaind-Aids, pronto.

Quoteskine Says:
“When you ain't got time to bleed, the best thing to do is stick a plaster over the cut. We all know that Blain never had time to bleed and this is my imagination of what he'd get up to in his retirement. Launching his own brand of Band-Aid plasters… Blaind-Aid. I'm sure he'd pretty soon be expanding into Blaindages too.”

The Usual Suspects

What’s Being Mashed-Up: Criminal mastermind Keyser Söze meets the Devil from Legend .

Attention To Detail: Another clever idea gets a stellar execution – we’d recognise those horns a mile off.

Quoteskine Says: “I'm sure some of you will recognise The Devil from Legend , he was always the most bad ass Devil in my opinion and I'm pretty sure he'd have crushed Tom Cruise's tiny pea head. He's also the most recognisable with those massive horns. It would be a pretty sweet trick if The Devil could pass himself off as an ordinary guy with just a suit and a joke disguise. Although I'm sure a lot of you guys have a boss who looks pretty similar? Probably nowhere near half as cool though.”
